What plantar fasciitis is
Plantar fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is heel pain caused by an irritated band of tissue along the bottom of the foot. This band runs from the heel to the toes and supports the arch.
The pain is often worst with the first steps in the morning, then eases a little as you walk.
This matters because standing, walking and daily activity can become sore and limited.
Most cases settle over months with the right care. Physiotherapy does not remove the pain overnight, but it helps the tissue calm and recover.
At home our physiotherapist guides stretches for the foot and calf, exercises to load the tissue gradually, and advice on footwear and activity. We adjust the plan as the heel improves, so you can return to comfortable standing and walking.
