What tendonitis is
Tendonitis
Tendonitis is an irritated, painful tendon. A tendon joins muscle to bone, and it can become sore when it is overused or loaded too much too soon.
Common sites are the shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee and heel. The area is often tender, stiff and sore with movement.
This matters because the pain can limit work, sport and daily tasks if the tendon is not given the right care.
Tendonitis usually settles with time and the correct loading. Physiotherapy does not heal it instantly, but it guides the tendon back to full use.
At home our physiotherapist finds what is overloading the tendon, then uses graded exercise to build its strength safely. We adjust activity, ease the pain and rebuild capacity, so the tendon recovers and is less likely to flare again.
