Scoliosis, a sideways curve of the spine
Scoliosis
Scoliosis is a sideways curve of the spine. Seen from behind, the spine bends into a C or an S shape instead of running straight down the back.
This matters because a larger curve can affect posture, comfort and, in some cases, breathing. Many mild curves stay stable and cause few problems, while others need watching over time.
Physiotherapy does not straighten the bones of the spine. Our physiotherapist works on the muscles around it, teaching exercises to build trunk strength, ease tightness and support better posture. We guide daily habits for sitting and lifting, and we advise when a doctor or specialist review is wise.
