Physiotherapy assessment, the first check

Physiotherapy assessment

A physiotherapy assessment is the first visit, where the physiotherapist checks how the person moves and what they can do safely. It comes before any exercise plan.

This matters because a good plan starts with a clear picture. The physiotherapist looks at strength, balance, joints and daily tasks, and asks what the family most wants back.

In the home, our physiotherapist also checks the real setting, such as the bed, the door step and the bathroom. From this, we agree on a small number of clear goals and a plan that fits the person. The family knows from the start what we are working toward.
