Coordination, smooth control of movement
Coordination
Coordination is the smooth control that lets different muscles and movements work together. It is what makes reaching for a cup or stepping onto a kerb look easy.
This matters because a stroke or injury can make movements clumsy or jerky. Poor coordination makes daily tasks slower and raises the chance of dropping things or stumbling.
Our physiotherapist uses purposeful, repeated practice to retrain smooth movement, such as guided reaching and stepping tasks. As control returns, everyday actions become safer and take less effort. We build the practice into tasks the person already does at home.
